Great race on Saturday except for falling in my division from 2nd to 4th. One person joined the circuit after skipping the 5k and 10k and was ripping fast. The person I had previously narrowly beaten, beat me by 8 seconds. We have a close pace. It was funny, because I passed the same person at the same place on the course as I did on the 10k (at the top of a hill). I moved up a few places overall from 24th to 22nd. My miles on this hilly course were as follows:

6:44, 6:25, 6:56, 7:09, 7:46, 7:51, 8:25, 6:38, 6:53 and 6:53

I'm looking forward to the 1/2 Marathon in 3 weeks. Hoping for a 1:29:29, but that would be 6:52 for 13.1 and I'm not sure I'm capable of that...yet. The course is more downhill with rollers so it's a much more favorable profile than the 10M.

Came home and ran a 5k with my son Zac. We haven't run together since he was in 8th grade. He's in 11th grade now. Very fun. I'm really enjoying involving my children in my running addiction!

Great race and good time. Go after that 1:29 in the half. Sometimes you need to set those BHAG's (Big, hairy a$$ goals) to really push yourself and see what you are capable of.

Reed, we need to get together at the half, and kick 1:29 out the door. The half has the makings of a very fast half; I'm sure you've got a 1:27 in you.
